The Fundamentals of Nature Photography

Gordon Dietzman has been invited to lead an exploration of nature photography on Saturday, May 18 from 9:00 am to noon at Iowisota, a new nature themed retreat and education center, near Lansing, IA.
The Center is located in the bluff country overlooking the Mississippi River and the Upper Mississippi National Wildlife Refuge. The Center’s roughly 200 acres provides a number of hiking trails that wind their way up to the bluff tops from which one has spectacular views up and down the Mississippi River. Birding and birding photography will be be excellent as we will be near the peak of migration.
The presentation will cover a wide variety of subjects including the art and technique of nature photography as well as some insights into processing photos using Adobe Lightroom. I’ve designed the presentation to be largely equipment independent so it will be valuable for folks with point-and-shoots, cell phone cameras, as well as DSLR and mirrorless cameras. It should be a very good time.
The program registration is $30/person. There is also some limited housing at the Center for those coming from afar. See the Center’s website for program registration and accommodations, if needed, and other details at https://www.iowisota.org/
Hope to see you there.
