Solar Viewing Party – Yellow River Forest

Join us on Saturday, Aug. 3 from 1 to 3 pm at 952 State Forest Road, Harpers Ferry IA, (watch for event sign) to look at the Sun through specialized telescopes. You’ll be able to see features such as sun spots, filaments, active regions, and prominences. The Sun is incredibly active now as it is approaching solar maximum. Learn interesting facts about how the activity of the Sun affects the Earth. You do not need to be present for the entire time, simply drop in between 1 and 3 pm.
