Postville, IA – March 2026 – FreedomBank is pleased to invite the community to a FREE Shred Day on
Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at its Postville location. This event offers a
convenient opportunity to safely and securely dispose of personal documents that could otherwise be at
risk for identity theft.
Whether you’re cleaning out old tax returns, bank statements, farm records, or other paperwork with
sensitive information like Social Security numbers, addresses, and account details, this event is designed
to help protect your privacy. Tri-State Shred will be on-site with a mobile shredding truck to immediately
destroy documents.
Event Details:
• Date: Saturday, April 18, 2026
• Time: 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
• Location: FreedomBank, 135 W Tilden, Postville, IA
• Cost: Free and open to the public
Each participant may bring up to three full boxes (10″ x 13″ x 18″) or five paper grocery bags of
documents to shred. For safety and efficiency, please remove items that do not contain personal
information, such as magazines, newspapers, and coupons.
Acceptable items for shredding include:
• Paper clips, staples, and rubber bands
• File folders and dividers
• Entire checkbooks
Please avoid shredding:
• Phone books, magazines, novels, and coupons
• CDs, DVDs, and batteries
• Hard drives or other electronics
• Metals, plastics, cardboard, or three-ring binders
“After tax season, many of us are left with piles of sensitive paperwork,” said Adam Weigand, Market
President at FreedomBank. “Shred Day gives our community a secure, convenient way to protect
personal information and prevent identity theft.”
Due to space limitations, the shredding truck may reach capacity before the end of the event. For
additional details or questions, please contact Sara Hertrampf at (563) 245-2522.
