Iowa Women’s Foundation hosted Iowa Childcare Summit in Altoona on Tuesday, November 19. Kristi Turner, Postville Childcare Center, met with a number of media outlets to share the Allamakee/Postville story.  Later that day, Kristi Turner, Postville Childcare Center and Val Reinke, Allamakee County Economic Development served on the Wage Enhancement Program/Child Care Solution Fund panel.  (See photo below.)

The Allamakee Childcare Coalition met November 25 via zoom over the lunch hour. The group reviewed the remaining pledges to be collected.  Postville Childcare has shared the support letter with their families.  Reinke will share the letter with Growing Bear in Waukon and request the letter be shared. The group spent the majority of the hour discussing how to best lift the advocacy effort with federal, state and local government officials.

Next Allamakee Child Care Coalition meeting is scheduled for Thursday, December 19 at noon via zoom.
