Located in the center of four counties in Northeast Iowa at the southeast corner of Allamakee, the town of Postville has a highly diverse ethnic population. Jewish, Hispanic, Russian, Ukrainian, Filipino, Norwegian, and many more cultures are reflected in local businesses, industries, and neighborhoods. Postville is also host every year on the last Sunday in August to the Taste of Postville, a wonderful and "tasty" event that offers superb delicacies from 23+ countries from around the world. There are several different faiths and religious congregations within the city and county area of Postville. They include Protestant, Catholic, Jewish and many other faiths. Postville is also home to the John R. Mott House, a two-story frame house in the Victorian style which is the home of 1946 Nobel Peace Prize winner John R. Mott. The current population of Postville is around 2,200.
